Dog Shows in September, City of Birmingham, Richmond, Darlington and Spanish Water Dog Monografica in Ubrique in Spain

August is nearly ending already.

September is very busy month for MD10 in the UK.

Next weekend, 3, 4, 5 September, we will be at City of Birmingham Canine Society Association Championship show in Stoneleigh park near Coventry, then  9, 10, 11 at Richmond followed by Darlington Dog Show on 16, 17, 18 September. We have never done Darlington, so we are so excited to meet new clients. Let's hope the weather will be dry for us.

As usual, please let me know if you would like to book 5 Litre Shampoo, we have got plenty this time, but you never know as there are 3 major shows.

MD10 Ltd are sponsoring two Breed Club Show at City of Birmingham. One is of course, Spanish Water Dog Club UK. The other one is the Australian Silky Terrier, which is our first time to sponsor this breed and I am very excited to meet more dogs.

My nephew Jun, who just turned 13 years old,
traveled all the way from Japan on his own to visit us.
He was helping me at South Wales Dog show, and it was an experience for him.
He is tall for his age, but act like 10 years old, doesn't understand much English
and may be some of my clients wondered who is this boy!
Jun returned to his mum yesterday safe after 16 hours journey.
Jun and my SWD Boris became good friends.

And also, 10, 11 September, for Spanish Water Dog (el Perro de Agua Espanol) Owners, there is a Monografica (Breed Open show) in Ubrique, South Spain.

It is beautiful place, where my Boris's parents came from. So if you are near there, why not join!

Shaun Ellis, The Wolf Man and Boris, Spanish Water Dog

Boris was very interested in Shaun and his wolf pack

Since I was little, I have been interested in any kind of animals. During teenager, obviously, I lost interest or should I say, with so many things were around me, I forgot all about it.

But Boris brought my passion and interest back 5 years ago. I love and enjoy any Nature Programmes. To be honest, the only TV I watch is Nature, Comedy and Music. Nothing else...

Recently, I found this guy called Shaun Ellis when I was searching a Christmas present for my friend. Apparently he was on National Geographic TV for a while.
I missed big time !! I feel that I really missed big thing.

Shaun is English - I thought he was American first, because "Living with Wolves" sounds too eccentric for  a British man. Yesterday, I have purchased a DVD and his book, and it arrived today, yahoo! And of course, Boris and I watched straight away.

Boris showed a lot of interests.... I think his wolf within telling him something. Shawn explain a lot about howling, and he is pretty good at it. I was hoping for Boris to haul, but he did not copy it.

The only thing of this DVD is too short ! I want more and more please!

One of my new dream is "To go and see them at Wolf Sanctually in North Devon one day".

Boris enjoys American Indian playing native Flute. He is Shaun's mentor.

I don't really have time watching TV during day..... I got prepare for a big dog show called MANCHESTER DOG SHOW next week, I have to plan my marketing this year, more business plans..... But anyway....

Perro de Agua Espanol, Concurso de pastoreo 2010 - Goat Herding Trial in Spain

On 17th October 2010, the Annual Goat Herding Trial in South Spain was held in a place called Algar. (Concurso de Pastoreo del Perro de Agua Español)

MD10 has been always sponsoring this event, being Spanish and Andalusian.

The Shampoo for Spanish Water Dog? Yes, "MD10, Texture Volume". For people who likes Coarse coat, MD10 dog grooming shampoo brought out a brand new shampoo called "Texture Herbal". Instead of Water, they use "Herbal Infusion", herbs like Rosemary. The shampoo smells gorgeous indeed. I am sure this is good for my dog and for me as aromatherapy.....

Algar is one my favourite spot in the world. Beautiful views surrounded by mountains and lakes. The sunset is breath taking....The animals who live on the farm are lucky.

This working trial was started to keep the working ability of el Perro de Auga Español (Spanish Water Dog), which is rapidly loosing in modern life styles. Spanish Water Dog can adopt in many living environment like living in town, however, their intelligence, strength will shine especially when they are working. The herding is one of common usage of this breed in south Spain since long time ago.

As I wrote in my previous blog, they just watch other experienced dog does, then copy it straight away. They are natural learner in many ways.... good or bad.

This year, they had 28 entries with a lot of new comers, which I believe it is wonderful. It is important to keep this interesting ability for the next generation, as a part of culture in this country, which they can be proud of.

Herding test is not just chasing Goat as you think - it is the obedience level of the handler, also not harming goats - these elements are strictly considered.

Dog has to know when and which direction he has to chase. Therefore, the ultimate obedience is the most important elements. Dog also has to be calm and should not be scared of goats too.

Young Christina and her dog joined this event at the very first time, and they did wonderfully and won a prize !!!

Well Done Christina - we will see again next year!

Shall I bring my Boris next year?

Spanish Water Dog - El Perro de Agua Español - Brave Dogs!!

While I was staying in Spain 2 weeks ago, I visited friend's farm to see how a Spanish Water Dog react with farm animals. Well, this light brown dog had never seen cows nor sheep in his life. But somehow he learnt very quickly watching other SWD does, then did exactly the same...

2 big cows giving dog eyebolls - what are you lookin' at?

Brave dog does not scared big cows at all. He did not even bark at them.

But large cow did not like him in the vicinity and challenged at the dog few times.

After few minutes with experienced dog, he started to hard the cows.
Very good indeed.

MD10 New Formula Test, Definite Curl Dog Shampoo

MD10 Professional Dog Grooming Shampoo Creator Tomas is always busy making sure his products are at the best. Also, as a scientist, he loves being busy thinking and creating new shampoo for particular needs.

I think, he created this new formula "Definite Curl with UV Cut to protect dog's skin and coat from the strong Sun" for Spanish Water Dog in Spain. As you know, where Tomas is Andalusia, Spain, where "Spanish Water Dog" is very common as a dog. Also during summer time, the sun is so strong and sun wash dog's brown coat into whitish or blondish colour.

Few months ago he told me that he is making new formula to give curly coat "ultimate curl". And 2 weeks ago when I met him again, he gave me this new formula to try. His wife and friends who have curly hair were also his Guinea pig already.

My Spanish Water Dog, Boris has been sheared not so long ago, so he only has short coat at the moment, which is about half inch. So I was not sure if this make any difference, but I tried.

Considering his coat is very short, looks like this worked!! Interesting.... but this is shampoo only for curly coat. I think this creation is for ultimate enjoyment for Tomas to see what he can achieve.

Spanish Water Dog Jumping and Diving in a Swimming Pool

I was in Andalusia in Spain last week, partly short break, partly have a meeting with Professional Dog Grooming Shampoo Collection MD10 Creator Tomas. He has now new products, SPECIALLY FORMULATED FOR CURLY HAIR. Base of the products are same as Texture, but Tomas wanted to create ultimate shampoo for Curly coated doggy. It also contains UVA filtering elements to prevents dog from getting sun burnt on their skin, and from their coat get sun washed. This is specially important in South Spain where the sun gets really strong during daytime.

By the way, Spain was so nice and hot, I was in the friend's swimming pool most of the daytime. How fortunate, dogs were also enjoying the water too.

I was wondering if dog close its eyes when they jump into the water. Here is one of my friend's dog, Diving Diva showing me "they don't close their eyes".

Myself as a human and being a useless swimmer, it looks brave for her to do this.

Diva diving to the bottom of the swimming pool, it is more than 1.2 meter deep. She loves it.

This one decided to chill out instead of working... typical male!!

We also went for canoe.... I will show the great photos in my next blog!

Have a break, have a Spanish Water Dog (Perro de Agua Español)

After attending at the World Dog Show and followed by Champion show of Standard Poodle, I am rather exhausted. I still have a lots of video for MD10 to edit on the website and for the trade fair.

I have not had much chance to take proper photographs with my beloved camera neither.

Life is so short, so we have to enjoy it.

Anyway, My Spanish Water Dog gives me smile and happiness time to time, and I wanted to show you what these dogs can do quite easily. My dog Boris used to climb the ladder too, not good as this Candy.

They are not only for the pretty face !!!

Yes, I have to say again, For Curly coat like Spanish Water Dog, MD10 Texture shampoo is ideal indeed.
