2013 Birmingham National Champ Show 1st Day - Hound and Terrier

Today, 1st Day of Birmingham National 2013. The last 3 years it had been OK, but this year, it turned so windy and so cold and rained a lot!!!!! We were nearly blown off..... I had to tie 5 x 5 Litres of shampoo on each leg of my Gazebo! 

 

Today also, OurDogs News paper, WDS 2013 supplement was out. MD10 Ltd advert is on the good page at the back!!! Thank you! also thank all my clients who allowed me to use their photos.

I had a interesting feedback from my clients today.

PBGV uses MD10 Herbal Texture for their coarse coat, but if your PBGV is white, mix with MD10 White Texture, it will bring out the white really well. Apparently it works better than using MD10 White Texture only. Interesting, and thank you very much for your knowledge.

While I was in Milan last week, my client sent me photos of her beautiful Maltese, only 17months old.

ABOUT MILAN:

The last two years after I took up MD10 Business, I did not have much chance to visit one of my favorite country, Italy. 

One of my best mate in Milan suddenly decided to have an art exhibition in her Studio. It is open Studio and her clients uses for fashion, art exhibition. If you are interested to open private exhibition in Milan, this is one of the place to do.

As soon as I arrived in Milano Linate, and went to the Ladies, I suddenly remembered that yes, Milan is design city. Everything has nice design element, and people care so much about design, beauty etc. I am not fashion conscious, but I like nicely designed PRODUCTS, INDUSTRIAL DESIGN. It is good for my eyes.

Look at this lock in the loo!!! I was so happy to come to this loo..... Not just beautiful, it is made to last. Not flimsy lock which get broken within a month - like in my ex so called top class Gym in London. The Door was colored glass I could die for. The hand dryer? Oh, super cool!! But I could not take a photo, because people may think I am a nuts.

I also was surprised, I started to remember my Italian !!! Language. I find it I can understand a lot lot more Italian than Spanish. Sounded so clear word by word even I don't speak. My friend told me that he does not understand Spanish very much even though words are similar. Now I am tempted to pursue Italian language instead, no, I need my Spanish for work. 

INSANE GREEN: the installation is about Green / Nature which is suffering / go insane in the modern world, and It is hospital for them.

They use the real Lawn on the beds. This one is seriously ill, and isolated.

When you sit next to these bed, you start feeling that you are really sitting next to a patient and start to have feeling for them???? 

For the opening party, we boiled 150 eggs, many fresh vegitables such as above... it looks like camereon and I hesitated to eat, but nature does beautiful thing......

Nadia has Iberian Podenco and a cat who came from Sicily. Ribes the dog is so gentle and very good friend with the cat.

Now at home again with my dear Boris. Yes, it is nice to have doggy friend who awaits for me to come back! He did not even say thank you to the carer when he left, and I was embarrassed. It is surprising how much your dog concentrates in you - even the carers spoil them rotten, as soon as the dog see its owner, that's it...... May be that is why dogs make you feel good!!!

The weather - it's lovely since yesterday - I have been waiting for the sunshine for a long time!

Due to my asthma, I have to keep my dog relatively clean. When was the last time I bathed Boris, the Spanish Water Dog using MD10 Texture Volume Shampoo? May be more than 6 months ago - in April, he had hair cut, so did not need wash really for a while. Now his coat is getting longer.

UK TOY DOG SOCIETY 2011 - Anniversary of MD10 Debut in the UK

Yesterday, 26 March 2011 was our anniversary debut in the UK show - UK Toy Dog Society.

Thank you very much for your support over the past year, giving me feedback and advices regrading on their breeds, dogs, which I learned a lot..... Without you, I am not be here today.

Now I know more dog breeds, and more about each breed, and it's coat etc etc. However, I feel that I need more to learn. So, please show me the right direction if you think I am doing wrong.

Last year, MD10 was nothing in the UK, almost nobody knew about us. 

After one year, yesterday, I met a lot of my clients, who make me feel that they are my great friends, which is the great feeling, and the reason I am doing this business for.

UK TOY DOG SOCIETY 2011 - Anniversary of MD10 Debut in the UK

Next Saturday 26th March 2011 is our First Anniversary of Debut in the UK, at the UK Toy Dog Society Championship Show 2011.

The first year went so quickly, however, it has been very rewarding year. Thank you very much to ALL of MY CLIENTS who have been supporting us in many way. Without you guys, I would not be able to be there next week!!!

I was at Crufts 2011 yesterday for Spanish Water Dog (Perro de Agua Espanol), because my breeder was exhibiting dogs.....

All of the dogs were so cute, but, his dogs won, The Best of Breed, and 2nd Best Male (Reserve), and we were sooooo delighted. Well done Paco, and Nigel.

150th Anniversary for Manchester Championship Dog Show

From 20th to 23rd Jan, we attended 150th Manchester Championship Dog Show at Stafford. Setting up from 19th, it was long show.

We asked many people at the stand, but still MD10 is not known to many people. And it is still a lot of work to be known to the market. So, yes, another new year, more challenge!

At the show, we met our usual clients and people we became friends, people from Our Dogs, which is one of the enjoyable thing.

The only driving force for me to keep going from 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM without time for proper lunch or tea is meeting people, new people - because I have met so many wonderful people, wonderful supporting clients.

Even though they do not need shampoo, if I do not know their breed, they are always happy to spend time to explain about the breed, and also bring their dog to show me later on! What a nice people! They have extensive knowledge of the breed and pride and passion, and most importantly love of dogs.

By the time we were on the way home on Sunday night, I was dog tired......

BUT !!!!!

On the way home in the car, I received 2 emails from my clients who bought shampoo on Thursday, Hound Day for their Afghan Hound. Both of them washed their dogs after the show and they were very happy with MD10 products.

One lady spent so much time to explain to me the details and experience. Thank you, thank you... Really appreciated.

Thanks to that, I was revived and could run miles!! 

Thank you so much again for everybody who stopped and talked to us at Manchester Dog Show, and of course our clients for your support.

Spanish Water Dog's Coat (Perro de Agua Espanol) and The Manchester Dog Society Championship Show 2011

 

Boris was happy not knowing I was getting ready for his shower....

My Spanish Water Dog, Boris used to be very dark brown, but after few shave, faded into Cinnamon or Ash Colour.  I think Spanish Water Dog's coat is very different from each other, quite often coat type goes with coat colour.

Boris has a lot of fluffy under coat, it is really thick and fluffy, ideal for very cold weather. That is why he can spend a whole day in the snow without any problems. However, this means if I leave this coat unattended for 2 months, this fluffy under coat gets tangled. 

When he used to swim every week, it was much easier, but now I can not take him for swim, it is hard. So if you got Spanish Water Dog and have access to Swimming Pool, Sea, Lake, I recommend you to take dogs for swimming every week.

How to Groom (?) Matted Spanish Water Dog

I noticed few people search the Internet to find information of "How to Groom Spanish Water Dog".

You don't Groom Spanish Water Dog using brush or comb, because if you mess up the natural cording, not only that, it will mat up awfully!! Best thing is to keep natural cording, lots of lots of swimming helps.

Boris has a lot of fluffy fluffy under coat. When people rub him giving affection, it makes worse..

So I have to split the matted part using my fingers, along the original cord.

Then Wash with MD10 Texture Shampoo.

If you can not wash them, sometime, 

just wipe with Baby wipe does trick - only quick fix though.

On the other hand this dog has white and dark coat, and the coat is thinner, 

therefore, you can see the curl is tighter (smaller) and shows better.

I never see his coat get tangled as much as Boris'.

The coat looks lighter, but it is sun burnt and nothing to do with his original colour.

See his legs, which is dark.

Above 2 photos were taken after showered using MD10 White Texture.

The curl and cording looks very definite and good.

That is why MD10 Texture shampoo is used by Spanish Water Dog Owners.

Boris was very interested in Shaun and his wolf pack

Since I was little, I have been interested in any kind of animals. During teenager, obviously, I lost interest or should I say, with so many things were around me, I forgot all about it.

But Boris brought my passion and interest back 5 years ago. I love and enjoy any Nature Programmes. To be honest, the only TV I watch is Nature, Comedy and Music. Nothing else... 

Recently, I found this guy called Shaun Ellis when I was searching a Christmas present for my friend. Apparently he was on National Geographic TV for a while. 

I missed big time !! I feel that I really missed big thing.

Shaun is English - I thought he was American first, because "Living with Wolves" sounds too eccentric for  a British man. Yesterday, I have purchased a DVD and his book, and it arrived today, yahoo! And of course, Boris and I watched straight away.

Boris showed a lot of interests.... I think his wolf within telling him something. Shawn explain a lot about howling, and he is pretty good at it. I was hoping for Boris to haul, but he did not copy it.

The only thing of this DVD is too short ! I want more and more please!

One of my new dream is "To go and see them at Wolf Sanctually in North Devon one day".

Boris enjoys American Indian playing native Flute. He is Shaun's mentor.

I don't really have time watching TV during day..... I got prepare for a big dog show called MANCHESTER DOG SHOW next week, I have to plan my marketing this year, more business plans..... But anyway.... 

LKA - Ladies Kennel Association Championship Show, 11 & 12 Dec 2010

Last weekend, we had a exhibition stand at LKA, Ladies Kennel Association Championship show in NEC Birmingham. It was 2nd Largest exhibition we attended after World Dog Show in Denmark in June. WDS seems to be long long time ago.

LKA is one of the last show at the end of the year, and has Christmas feeling to it. So we decided to have a bit of Christmas in our stand too. Now I like this little light so much, I have to have this at all year around!!

It was very nice show after all, we met many existing clients, and new clients, trial pack seemed to work in introducing our products to the people who never tried MD10.

So hopefully, well, most certainly, a lot of new MD10 user will be join us again 2011.

MD10 UK, Photo Competition Calender 2011 is ready !

After taking long time for delivery due to Snow problem we had down here in Surrey, we finally received MD10 UK Photo Competition Calender 2011 today!!

It was the first year in the UK for us since April, and I am so happy we came as far as here today.

Perro de Agua Espanol, Concurso de pastoreo 2010 - Goat Herding Trial in Spain

On 17th October 2010, the Annual Goat Herding Trial in South Spain was held in a place called Algar. (Concurso de Pastoreo del Perro de Agua Español)

MD10 has been always sponsoring this event, being Spanish and Andalusian.


The Shampoo for Spanish Water Dog? Yes, "MD10, Texture Volume". For people who likes Coarse coat, MD10 dog grooming shampoo brought out a brand new shampoo called "Texture Herbal". Instead of Water, they use "Herbal Infusion", herbs like Rosemary. The shampoo smells gorgeous indeed. I am sure this is good for my dog and for me as aromatherapy.....

Algar is one my favourite spot in the world. Beautiful views surrounded by mountains and lakes. The sunset is breath taking....The animals who live on the farm are lucky.

This working trial was started to keep the working ability of el Perro de Auga Español (Spanish Water Dog), which is rapidly loosing in modern life styles. Spanish Water Dog can adopt in many living environment like living in town, however, their intelligence, strength will shine especially when they are working. The herding is one of common usage of this breed in south Spain since long time ago.

As I wrote in my previous blog, they just watch other experienced dog does, then copy it straight away. They are natural learner in many ways.... good or bad.

This year, they had 28 entries with a lot of new comers, which I believe it is wonderful. It is important to keep this interesting ability for the next generation, as a part of culture in this country, which they can be proud of.

Herding test is not just chasing Goat as you think - it is the obedience level of the handler, also not harming goats - these elements are strictly considered.

Dog has to know when and which direction he has to chase. Therefore, the ultimate obedience is the most important elements. Dog also has to be calm and should not be scared of goats too.

Young Christina and her dog joined this event at the very first time, and they did wonderfully and won a prize !!!

Well Done Christina - we will see again next year!

Shall I bring my Boris next year?

Do not try this at home

The pH level (acid or alkaline) of dog's skin & coat and human one is different. That is why MD10 is created to assist MD10 creator Tomas' Yorkshire Terrier - however, some people use MD10 at home for humans. I know Tomas' family use different MD10 collection, for example his wife uses curly shampoo while his daughter use silky smooth. Tomas uses Texture to make his hair busy like punk, and finish off with Volume conditioner instead of gel.

I tried Yorkshire Terrier shampoo tonight so that to see how it works - I used it neat to see the strong results. My hair got very straighter and got shinier, and very smooth indeed.

But MD10 shampoo is for Animal only. Please do not try this at home.....

World Dog Show in Herning Denmark June 2010 - ワールドドッグショー ２０１０年

The World Dog Show in Denmark will start next week, and MD10 UK and Head Office will have stand.

I had to do one more banner for the show, in very short time as 4 hours to design for the printer. I have to say that it was so stressful from scratch to finishing. The banner is nearly 2m high, so the data file was huge to handle too.

Even though that is not actually ART, but when you see this in Denmark, please think about me !

By the way, MD10 now have new shampoo called "Super Hydration" which means this shampoo gives maximum hydration upon shampooing dogs. Therefore it is suitable for very short hair dog (less than 1cm) or hairless dog, protecting skin from drying. It will be named "Max Hydration" in English and I will start design the label for this new product.

I will be packing and getting ready for the show until then, I will not be able to write until I come back.

First day of MD10 UK, Professional Dog Grooming Shampoo & Conditioner

This is the my first time ever dog show with MD10 Shampoo at the end of March 2010.

Prior to the show it was nightmare to get everything ready from labels, brochure and banners, also video which I filmed at the international dog show in south Spain at the end of last year.

Taking on of this business, I was very brave, but I am very happy. Somehow I got very positive feeling in every direction with my products.

Even though I had confident, I was bit nervous at start. But giving samples and getting great feed backs reassured me. Me and MD10 creator Tomas will work hard to make our products one of best dog grooming shampoo products in the world.
